PIG-FLIGHTSCOPE-MEVO2

FlightScope’s Mevo Gen2 launch monitor, supplied through Carl’s Place — a radar unit placed behind the golfer. It is the entry radar unit — a depth question rather than a ceiling one. FlightScope publishes a twelve-month warranty.

Placement

It needs depth behind the tee, not height above it

A radar unit that sits behind the golfer, not beside the ball. FlightScope places it 8 ft directly behind the ball with 8 ft of ball flight — at least 16 ft of total depth — and a 9 ft ceiling at minimum, 10–12 ft recommended; Carl’s Place recommends at least 10 ft from tee to screen. Aluminum stickers or RCT balls are required indoors.

  • Body. 6.9 × 1.2 × 5.6 in; 1.1 lb (FlightScope product page).
  • Hitting zone. Not applicable — radar.
  • Handedness. Not published by FlightScope for this unit.
  • Computer. FS Golf runs on iOS, Android and PC; a PC to FlightScope’s minimum specification is needed for third-party simulation.

What it measures

Cameras, zone, and what ships in the box

What separates one launch monitor from another is what it can see, from where, and what it comes with.

Tracking

Fusion tracking (radar with a camera); 18 performance metrics; automatic swing video (Carl’s Place program sheet; FlightScope).

The hitting zone

Not applicable — radar. Where the ball may sit is what decides whether a centered mat serves two golfers without moving anything.

Software — in the box, and compatible

FS Golf practice app, FS Skills Challenges and an E6 Connect bundle of eight courses (FlightScope product page). FlightScope names E6 Connect, Awesome Golf and GSPro as the simulation titles the Mevo Gen2 plays; each is licensed from its publisher.

Whose numbers these are

Precision does not manufacture this unit and does not test it. Every figure on this page is FlightScope’s or Carl’s Place’s, quoted from their published pages; where the two disagree the page says which it uses, and where neither publishes a figure it is stated as unknown rather than guessed.

Depth, not height, is the number that matters here.

Is the room deep enough?

A radar unit is a depth question, not a ceiling one. Enter the room and the Space Calculator will show whether the distance behind the tee is there.
